West Morris Regional High School District is proud to announce that we have been recognized by the NAMM Foundation for the prestigious Best Communities for Music Education designation. This is the sixth consecutive year that our music program has been recognized in this way.
We offer a diverse range of ensemble groups in Orchestra, Band, and Choir, as well as semester-long courses in Music Production, Music Theory, and Piano. Additionally, we have co-curricular music groups that meet after school and provide students with opportunities to participate in Acapella, Symphony Orchestra, and Jazz Band, among other specialized ensemble groups. Our programs are tailored to the needs, interests, and talents of our student musicians!
Co-curricular opportunities abound for our student musicians. Students in the Marching Band enjoy competing around the state, as well as showcasing their talents at football games. Students at both high schools participate in the spring musical’s pit orchestra to accompany their fellow students onstage. Choral groups make visits around the community to spread the wonderful sound and spirit of their voices, under the direction of their committed teachers.
This designation is due entirely to the hard work and dedication of our Music teachers, who work tirelessly to inspire enthusiasm, passion, and continued skill development in every student musician. The Best Communities for Music Education designation serves to honor school districts that exhibit a remarkable commitment to and accessibility of Music Education like West Morris.
